A Bayern Munich star says that Sadio Mane is not a direct replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who joined FC Barcelona this week.
The Senegalese star already found the back of the net in his Bayern debut this week after completing a move from Liverpool a couple weeks ago.
The Bavarians, meanwhile, have lost their top scorer in Lewandowski who finished the 2021/2022 with 50 goals in all competition compared to Mane’s 23 goals for the Reds.
Bayern star Joshua Kimmich says that Mane brings other qualities to the side and is not Lewandowski’s direct replacement.
“With Lewy we lose a lot of goals, we have to replace that collectively. Sadio is of course a great player, but I don’t think he scores 40 or 50 goals, he brings others qualities,” Kimmich said, as per Goal.
“I think he’s hungry, that he wants to go ahead and win titles. He’s doing quite well. In the beginning he was relatively calm, but he’s an open, easy-going guy. He always has something to say. I think he’ll fit in well.”
