Kenya’s ruling coalition has named individuals who will represent the government in negotiations with the opposition.
The seven-member team was named on Tuesday after a meeting chaired by President William Ruto. It has five members of parliament and two senators.
The opposition had announced it’s team last week.
President Ruto earlier this month allowed for dialogue with the opposition on electoral reform, but within parliament.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga accepted the invitation and suspended protests, but insists on the clergy and non-state groups to be involved in the talks.
Three people including a police officer were killed in the protests with hundreds of others injured. President Ruto said the violence had ruined the economy.
