Kenyan President William Ruto has met with officials from the Muslim World League at State House in Nairobi.
The delegation was led by the organisation’s Secretary-General, Mohammed Abdul Karim Alissa.
Mr Ruto emphasised the importance of Kenya’s relationship with Saudi Arabia, highlighting strong ties in trade, business and people-to-people relations.
The president said the visit underscored a “shared commitment to peace and inter-faith harmony”.
“We deeply value the strong ties between Kenya and Saudi Arabia, especially in trade, business and people-to-people relations,” he said.
“Pleased to welcome the Muslim World League officials who are visiting Kenya, led by Secretary-General Mohammed Abdul Karim Alissa, at State House Nairobi.
“We value our partnership, which underscores our shared commitment to peace and inter-faith harmony. We also appreciate their efforts in supporting vulnerable communities across Kenya.”
He also praised the Muslim World League’s efforts in supporting vulnerable communities across Kenya.
The Muslim World League, based in Mecca, describes itself as an international non-governmental Islamic organisation.
Kenya, where Islam is the second largest religion after Christianity, has long-standing diplomatic and economic ties with Saudi Arabia.
The meeting comes as Kenya continues to strengthen its relationships with nations in the Middle East and North Africa.
