Nsoatreman FC marked their first appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup with a convincing 3-0 win over TP Elect Sport of Chad at Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Ghanaian side, under new manager Yaw Preko, dominated the match, particularly in the latter stages of the first half.
Abdul Rahman opened the scoring on 31 minutes, before former Ghana Under-20 winger Kwabena Adu Meider doubled the lead two minutes later.
Rahman netted his second in the 36th minute, converting a low cross from Shaibu Iddrisu.
Elect Sport’s woes increased when goalkeeper Mahamat Bechir was sent off in the 54th minute for handling the ball outside the penalty area.
Despite their numerical advantage, Nsoatreman couldn’t add to their tally, with Stephen Diyou striking the woodwork on 70 minutes.
Goalkeeper Daniel Afazdwu made three key saves to preserve the clean sheet.
The return leg is scheduled for 24 August in N’Djamena, where Nsoatreman will aim to secure their place in the next round.
