Morocco triumphed at the 1st edition of the Para Karate event within the African Karate Championship, securing two medals on Friday.
The championship, which began on August 14 and runs until August 20, has seen athletes from across the continent gather in Casablanca to showcase their prowess in the martial art, reported Morocco state media.
Said Mahmoudi emerged as the standout performer for Morocco, clinching the coveted gold medal in the “Para exhibition” category. His outstanding performance captivated the audience and demonstrated the relentlessness he had put into his training. Mahmoudi’s achievement not only reflects his personal dedication but also highlights Morocco’s growing pool of karate talents.
Another moment of pride came for Morocco when Mouad Arrid secured a bronze medal in the “intellectual disability” category, specifically K22.
