After three rounds of Bantamweight Kickboxing, Russia’s Elbrus Osmanov picked up a victory via unanimous decision inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Karroumi, who had successfully knocked out his opponents in eight of his last 10 fights, started the first round slowly, unable to connect with his ambitious strikes.
On the other hand, Osmanov controlled the pace, striking with a combination of punches and a knee to the body.
Karroumi looked more intense in the second round, charging forward into attacking positions where he threw jabs and high leg kicks. Osmanov countered with low kicks and a powerful spinning heel kick.
Osmanov looked in control in the third round, dropping Karroumi with a spinning elbow in the final round’s best highlight. Despite finding himself in a weak position, Karroumi showed great heart to stay in the fight until the final bell sounded.
Karroumi, who had fought in several martial arts organizations including Holland-based Enfusion, joined the famed Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand nine months ago after impressing coaches on an initial trial period.
The 29-year-old became the fourth Moroccan fighter to feature in the ONE Friday Fights weekly series which takes place every Friday afternoon inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.
With this defeat, Karroumi’s overall Muay Thai and Kickboxing record drops to 36-8. Meanwhile, Osmanov pushed his overall record to a spotless 9-0.
