Talks between Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech and Saudi club Al Nassr are advancing, sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported.
“Negotiations between Hakim Ziyech and Al Nassr are advancing well,” the journalist wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
Romano stressed that Premier League club Chelsea is interested in the transfer, and is pushing to “get it done next week.”
Romano also reported that Ziyech is “open” to the move, which will allow him to join Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rumors linking Ziyech with Al Nassr have been making the rounds for weeks.
Last week, sports news outlet Goal also linked the Moroccan international to a move to the Saudi club.
Many sports outlets suggested that Al Nassr views Ziyech as a good fit as his eye-catching performances could help to provide further assistance to Ronaldo.
Saudi clubs have been racing to secure deals with world-class football players from across the world, ahead of the country’s bid to host the World Cup in 2030.
One of the most recent transfers was reigning Ballon D’Or holder Karim Benzema’s decision to join Al Ittihad.
It is not yet confirmed whether Ziyech wll join the Saudi league, but what is certain is that many of his fans are not excited about the potential move – suggesting that the Atlas Lion can still play in Europe and put on impressive performances in the top leagues.
