Moroccan midfielder Ismael Saibari has signed a new five-year contract with PSV Eindhoven, staying with the Dutch football club until the summer of 2028.
“I’ve gained a lot of experience in recent years. That’s what has made me the player I am. I’m looking forward to playing my part in achieving the goals of this wonderful club,” the 22-year-old attacking midfielder told the press.
After the Dutch club announced the new deal with their star Moroccan player, Earnest Stewart, PSV’s director, was full of praise for the qualities of the attacking midfielder.
“Ismael is not only technically gifted, but also possesses the qualities required of an excellent professional footballer,” Stewart said. “He’s eager to learn, resistant to stress and, above all, extremely motivated. This combination makes him a player we absolutely wanted to recruit for a long time.”
Since joining PSV from Belgium’s Racing Genk in 2020, Saibari has so far made forty appearances for the Dutch club, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
The attacking midfielder was promoted to the senior team last season and quickly established himself as a first-team regular.
His promotion came on the back of a 5-1 win against Scottish side Rangers FC to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Saibari’s two crucial goals in that important game, in the 35th and 53rd minutes, showcased his outstanding ability on the pitch.
This led to Moroccan head coach Walid Regragui calling up the international for the Moroccan national team.
