Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has officially joined Premier League club Manchester United on a a loan deal, the Red Devils have confirmed.
The move ends months of speculation over the midfielder’s next destination amid interest from many other European teams
The club announced the news on social media on Friday September 1, with a caption reading: “Sofyan Amrabat is red.”
Amrabat also shared the news on his social media, thanking Italian club Fiorentina and all its staff members and fans.
“After three years, at this beautiful club it’s time to take on a new challenge,” he said. “When I arrived in 2020, I couldn’t have imagined all the adventures we’d experienced together. Our run in the Conference League and Coppa Italia last year and the many special nights in Stadio Artemio Franchi will live with me forever.”
He also extended his thanks to the club, all football players, staff, and fans for all “the memories created.”
“It has been an honor to wear this badge,” he concluded.
The Atlas Lion had been linked with United throughout the summer window, with manager Erik ten Hag wanting him to strengthen the midfield.
