The incident occurred during a military strike targeting insurgent logistics bases in Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa communities within Silame Local Government Area.
The tragic event coincided with another somber mission for the Vice President, who led a presidential delegation to Jigawa State to console Governor Umar Namadi over the loss of two family members.
“In the same vein, I led a delegation on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a condolence visit to the government and people of Jigawa State following the passing of the mother and son of the state governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi,” Shettima said.
“Within 24 hours of the passing of his mother, Hajiya Mariam Namadi, on December 25, the Governor suffered another tragedy with the loss of his eldest son, Abdulwahab Namadi.
