Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken to his Twitter page to reveal that voters in Osun state are rejecting money being offered them in exchange for their votes.
The singer said this following his observation at the ongoing Osun State Governorship election of which is uncle Senator Ademola Adeleke, the People’s Democratic Party candidate is contesting.
Reacting to the development, Davido expressed hope for the country as Nigerians are reported to have rejected cash from any angle.
He tweeted, “People rejecting money being offered to them left and right of the state today. Great to see there is still hope for Nigeria.”
In support for his uncle’s political ambition, Davido was spotted campaigning on the streets of Osun state and urging electorates to vote for his uncle, Adeleke.
Adeleke is contesting the governorship seat alongside, the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola (All Progressives Congress); Akin Ogunbiyi (Accord Party) and Lasun Yusuff (Labour Party).
For the past few days, Davido has been in Osun, bonding with the electorate and urging them to vote for his uncle.
