A suspect, allegedly involved in South Africa mass murder was apprehended on Tuesday, 18 October at the Lesotho taxi rank in the inner Johannesburg CBD.
According to the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD), this suspect wanted for multiple murders in Ekurhuleni was arrested by JMPD IIOC Undercover officers in the JHB CBD.
The mass murder suspect’s latest violent attack was today when she shot a lady.
“The suspect had allegedly shot a lady in the leg at Bree and Twist Streets earlier.
Information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts was received and he was apprehended at the Lesotho Taxi Rank,” the report read.
It is unclear whether he was intending to board a taxi and flee the country or was using the busy taxi rank to disguise himself as a commuter.
Anyhow, the mass murder suspect was searched and an unlicensed firearm with the serial number filed off was found in his possession.
He was later detained at Johannesburg Central Police Station (SAPS) and will be making his court appearance soon.
While this arrest seems to be effected in minutes, JMPD has been reacting with urgency lately with regard to crime in the city centre.
This past weekend, JMPD personnel arrested armed suspects in the inner Johannesburg CBD for possession of a hijacked minibus taxi.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla confirmed that the two male suspects between the ages of 21 and 23 years were arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Undercover Reaction Unit in possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and an unlicensed firearm at Currey Street and Siemert Road, Doornfotein.
