The Police in Port St Johns are on the hunt for suspects allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of three teenagers on Friday night.
It is alleged that at about 19:10, police were attending to another complaint at Qhubuswayo locality Majola A/A when they heard the sound of gunfire.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu said they immediately drove in that direction and saw some males running.
She said on further investigation, they found the bodies of three teenagers (2 males and 1 female), aged between 17 and 18 years old, lying nearby.
“Another three persons (ages unknown) were also found injured with gunshot wounds. They were taken to the local hospital for treatment,” she detailed.
“At this stage, the circumstances surrounding the incident is under investigation. Police are investigating three cases of murder and three cases of attempted murder,” Colonel Naidu said.
She added that police are appealing to anyone who can assist in the investigation or may know the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to contact the detective Commander at SAPS Port St Johns, D/Lt Col Mandla Miya or contact the Crime Stop on or the nearest police station.

Relatively quiet and boasting as an emerging tourist attraction, Port St Johns is never in the headlines for crime.
Negative press relating to gun crimes was last reported in 2016 when the Port St Johns Crime Prevention members arrested two suspect for the possession of unlicensed firearms at Mswakazi Locality, Lusikisiki. Three unlicensed firearms were seized.
