Tunisia showed their strength ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-0 victory over Cape Verde in a Wednesday friendly at Hammadi Agrebi Stadium.
The Carthage Eagles leaned on goals from Elias Achouri and Youssef Msakni to claim the convincing result in Rades. Achouri struck early in the 12th minute to give Tunisia the lead. Msakni then sealed the win with a clinical finish early in the second half.

In the second half, veteran forward Youssef Msakni extended Tunisia’s lead eight minutes after the break, securing a 2-0 victory for his team.
Both teams were using the friendly as part of their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to begin on January 13th in Cote d’Ivoire.
The loss leaves Cape Verde with more questions than answers as they head into AFCON group stage play. For Tunisia, the clean sheet and attacking display should build confidence as they aim for continental glory.
Cape Verde are placed in Group B of the tournament, alongside Egypt, Ghana, and Mozambique. while Tunisia are in Group E with Mali, Namibia and South Africans.
