The US delegation met Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta, President-elect William Ruto and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Raila Odinga promised to use proper and legal ways to appeal the declaration of the presidential results by the Kenyan Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Raila said he was going to pursue the election petition legally and maintain peace in Kenya. Present in Kenya was the Congressional delegation of the US Senate and House of Representatives led by Delaware Senator Chris Andrew Coons.
“We held candid discussions on developments around our general election and bilateral relations with the Congressional delegation of the US Senate and House of Representatives. We reiterated our commitment to pursuing legal means to resolve issues around the election results,” Raila said after the meeting.
