Wydad Casablanca is the best club in Morocco and second in Africa with 155.5 points, according to the latest ranking published by the IFFHS.
The Egyptian club Al Ahly ranked as the best in Africa, and it was followed by three Moroccan clubs, namely Wydad, AS FAR, then Raja.
Worldwide, Manchester City topped the list ahead of Real Madrid, while Al Ahly ranked 6th, Wydad came in 51st, FAR 79th, and Raja 84th.
Wydad, unfortunate finalists in the CAF Champions League, dropped 5 places. The Casablanca club, runners-up of Morocco’s top-tier football league last year, remains the second-best club in Africa behind Al Ahly.
Wydad faced Al Ahly in the final of the continental tournament, a two-legged confrontation the Egyptians won 3-2 in aggregate.
In fifteen final appearances, Al Ahly have won eleven titles, while Wydad have won three titles in five final appearances.
The CAF Champions League is an annual club competition organized by the Confederation of African Football.
The top African clubs compete against each other and the winners are determined through a round-robin group stage to qualify for a two-legged knockout stage, followed by a home-and away-final.
