The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has secured a landmark partnership with Royal Air Maroc, designating Morocco’s national airline as the “Official Global Partner” for several major upcoming football competitions across the continent.
The historic agreement covers the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024, and multiple other prestigious tournaments including the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 and U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025, the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2024/2025 Finals, the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2024/2025 Finals, and the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025.
This strategic partnership strengthens Royal Air Maroc’s continental footprint while highlighting Morocco’s growing prominence as a global sports destination. The North African nation is preparing to host the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, and will stage the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations from July 5-26, 2025. Morocco is also set to co-host the FIFA World Cup 2030.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating: “We are excited about the partnership between CAF and Royal Air Maroc, a world-class airline that will provide comfort and fly National Teams participating in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 and the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024.”
Dr. Motsepe added, “We are confident that the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be the most successful AFCON in the history of this competition, and we are delighted to see more Moroccan and other African and international companies sponsor and partner with CAF and African football.”
Royal Air Maroc has previously demonstrated its commitment to African sports, notably serving as the Official Carrier for the Atlas Lions during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where Morocco made history as the first African nation to reach the World Cup semi-finals.
Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, emphasized the significance of the partnership: “This historic partnership with CAF is fully in line with our strategic vision, that of an airline resolutely rooted in Africa and committed to its development. Royal Air Maroc does not just connect destinations; it also creates bridges between cultures and passions.”
To accommodate the increased demand during CAF competitions, Royal Air Maroc will implement a new operational and commercial system, significantly strengthening its flight schedule with capacity tailored to supporters’ needs. The airline plans to expand its fleet during these major sporting events to provide greater flight choices and destinations.
The flight schedule has been strategically developed to serve fans from participating African countries and facilitate travel for the African diaspora worldwide to Morocco. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that football enthusiasts from across the globe can fully experience these celebrations of African football.
