Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, says he never mentioned in any interview his dream to play for the four-time African Champions at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, adding he was ‘misquoted’.
The 36-year-old former Legon City striker became the talk after his recent interview with BBC where he reportedly said he was willing to return to the Black Stars, possibly to Qatar 2022 for the World Cup.
Asamoah Gyan has explained all that he said and revealed he was misquoted, however, he would welcome the return to the National team in Case the need be and there is Motivation backing.
Speaking in an interview with Angels Sports, Asamoah Gyan said” I never claimed I want to return to the National Team, I was misquoted, however, if the need be and there is motivation, I am ready”
Asamoah Gyan last played for the Black Stars in 2019.
The former Sunderland striker is currently the leading scorer of the Ghana Black Stars with 51 goals.
