The Nelson Mandela Foundation has announced the release of a new comic book chronicling the extraordinary life of the late South African anti-apartheid revolutionary and president.
Titled “Nelson Mandela: The Authorized Comic,” the book aims to tell the story of Mandela’s journey from his birth and childhood to his monumental rise as South Africa’s first democratically elected Black leader.
“It’s a great addition to any library or bookshelf,” the Foundation said.
The comic book takes readers through major milestones in Mandela’s life, including his early days, his activism against apartheid, his 27-year imprisonment, and eventual election as president after apartheid ended.
Bringing Mandela’s story to life through illustrations and narrative text, the foundation said the book would make a great addition to any library or bookshelf for those interested in South African history.
Mandela remains a global icon for human rights and democracy more than a decade after his passing in 2013 at age 95. The foundation is striving to continue his legacy and has authorized the new comic book as an engaging way to share his inspirational story with new generations.
