The Nigerian women’s 4x100m relay team continued their reign of supremacy at the African Athletics Championships, successfully defending their gold medal in a thrilling race, leaving Ghana behind for silver.

The quartet of Justina Eyakpobeyan, Tima Godbless, Olayinka Oladide, and world champion hurdler Tobi Amusan showcased their speed and teamwork to clinch victory, extending Nigeria’s unbeaten streak in this event since 2018.

Nigeria crossed the finish line with a commanding time of 43.01 seconds, leaving their closest competitors in their wake.

Ghana secured the silver medal with a time of 43.62 seconds, while Liberia rounded out the podium, claiming bronze with 44.38 seconds.

This victory underscores Nigeria’s dominance in women’s sprinting on the continental stage. The presence of Tobi Amusan, a world record holder in the 100m hurdles, added star power to an already formidable lineup.
