Khloe Kardashian is embracing motherhood. Three weeks after welcoming a baby boy with her ex Tristan Thompson, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” alum said in a new interview that she loves being a mother of two.
The 38-year-old spoke up about her second child for the first time when sitting down with Elle. “I know it’s cliche, but I love everything, even the hard parts. I [my kids] challenge me as a person, and being able to shape little people into really incredible big people is an honor and a gift,” she said.
“We have to take those roles seriously, especially in today’s day and age, with how much accessibility children have and the information they’re exposed to so young,” the Good American founder added. “It’s super scary, but I take my job very seriously. I love it so much.”
Khloe and Tristan, who are already parents of daughter True Thompson, welcomed their second child together via surrogate earlier this month. News about them expecting another child together first broke in July, seven months after their latest split.
“Khloe is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing,” a rep for Khloe told Page Six at the time. “We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family.”
Despite the pregnancy news, an insider claimed that “The Kardashians” star and the professional basketball player are not back together. It was also said that they have not spoken outside of co-parenting their 4-year-old daughter.
Still, the exes had a custody agreement for their newborn baby. A source close to the former couple told HollywoodLife.com, “Khloe and Tristan have agreed that Khloe will have sole legal and physical custody of their baby full time. However, Tristan is so excited to have welcomed a son because he really wanted another boy.”
“Even though Khloe will have full custody of the baby, she’s more than happy for Tristan to be present in their child’s life as much as he wants,” the so-called insider further explained. “Tristan already has such a close bond with True and he loves seeing how excited she is to have become a big sister.”
