Unknown Gunmen, suspected to be bandits, have attacked the headquarters of Bungudu Local Government Area of Nigeria’s Zamfara State, killing one person and abducting 7 others.
Bungudu Local Government Headquarters is about 21km from the state capital, Gusau.
A resident of Bungudu town, Ishaq Bungudu, told newsmen that the bandits, who attacked the local government headquarters on Monday morning, abducted seven victims including the son of the Emir of Bungudu Abdulrahman Hassan and the Former State Programme Officer of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Abubakar S/Fada Bungudu.
The Zamfara State Police Command has not confirmed the incident.
The spokesperson of Command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, has not responded to several phone calls put across to him.
