The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria has announced that its Visa Application Centres (CVAC) in Abuja and Lagos remain open despite the suspension of operations at the High Commission in the wake of a recent explosion that killed two people.
It comes as the cause of Monday’s fire outbreak is under investigation.
Despite the suspension of operations at the Canadian High Commission, the CVACs have gone above and beyond to continue their services to applicants.

“Regardless of the suspension of operations at the High Commission of Canada in Abuja, the visa application centres in Abuja and Lagos remain open.

While the investigations and necessary repairs are underway at the Commission, the CVACs have stepped up to ensure that essential services are uninterrupted.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the explosion at a section of the building of the Canadian High Commission in Abuja on Monday killed two people, including a local employee, and left two others injured.
Global Affairs Canada, in a statement issued on Monday, said it would work with local authorities to determine the cause of the explosion.
