German 2 Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf, have announced the signing of the talented forward on loan from English Championship side Watford.
The 19-year-old joins Dusseldorf for a year with a purchase option to sign for permanent stay.
Baah, who was born in Stuttgart, went to England with his family at a young age, where he grew up as a footballer in the Premier League club Crystal Palace, among other things. From 2019 to 2021, Baah played at AFC Rochdale. There he gained his first professional experience and played 37 games in England’s third division, League One.
He scored three goals. This was followed by a move to Watford FC, who were later relegated to the Premier League. Baah is also a current German U19 international. He has already been nominated four times (two goals) for the selection of DFB coach Hannes Wolf.
Fortuna Düsseldorf Sports Director Christian Weber, is happy with Baah’s capture.
“With Kwadwo Baah, we’re getting a player with potential for development who already has a lot to offer and who fits our requirement profile perfectly with his pace and physique. In England he showed his talent from a very young age. The fact that he’s regularly part of the German U19 national team underscores his abilities.”
Baah expressed excitement after signing the deal:
He says: “I’m really looking forward to it and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to play for such a big club in Germany as Fortuna Düsseldorf. It’s going to be a great experience for me and above all I can’t wait to see the fans here in the stadium. I’m a player who looks for one-on-one situations and has the pace – that’s how I want to help the team.”
