Ghana has won the bid to host the 2024 World Armwrestling Championship, the World Armwrestling Federation has announced.
At the World Armwrestling Federation Congress in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the West African country was selected for next year’s event.
Ghana and Egypt were the two African countries racing for the hosting rights.
Ghana emerged the winner after the leadership of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, headed by its President Charles Osei Asibey, Godsen Kwame Asem and Husseini Akuetteh Addy made a successful defense at the congress.
Report indicates Ghana’s Youth and Sports Ministry, Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Investment Promotion Council, Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council and other institutions and joined forces to support the Ghana Armwrestling Federation to compete in the hosting bid.
