Ghanaian billionaire Daniel McKorley has set his sights on an ambitious dream to buy English Premier League side Nottingham Forest Football Club.
In a surprising revelation, Daniel McKorley expressed his deep-rooted support for the team, dating back to their days in the third division, revealing that forms his motivation to want to buy the club in future.
Known for his entrepreneurial prowess and success in various industries, McKorley’s declaration raised eyebrows amongst football enthusiasts worldwide. While some sceptics questioned his ability to navigate the intricate world of professional football ownership, others admired his passion and determination.
Reiterating his open support for Ghanaian Club Accra Great Olympics, McKorley emphasised that his interest in Tottenham Hotspur went beyond mere financial investment.
He spoke fondly about the team’s rich history and loyal fanbase, expressing a desire to contribute to the club’s legacy and help them achieve new heights.
“The only team I support in the world apart from Oly (Great Olympics) is Nottingham Forest,” McKorley said. “I have been a supporter of Nottingham Forest when Nottingham was even in the third division. Why? Because I want to buy that team. I want to buy Nottingham Forest.
“Imagine with all this development going on, McDan buys Nottingham Forest, and every time you see about 60 percent of the players in the English league from Ghana.”
“It sounds strange, but just think about it,” he added. “Just imagine Nottingham Forest win the PL (Premier League) with 60 percent of the players from Ghana.”
Despite the initial buzz surrounding McKorley’s announcement, many wondered about the potential challenges he would face in realising his dream. Owning a Premier League football club requires substantial financial resources, intricate knowledge of the game, and the ability to navigate the complex dynamics of the football industry.
Daniel McKorley, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the McDan Group of Companies, He established the McDan Shipping Company in November 1999, now with headquarters in Accra and branches in Tema and Takoradi.
He was adjugded Ghana’s Best Entrepreneur Award, in 2022.
