Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is set to be handed a permanent role at Tottenham Hotspurs’ youth team.
The Ivory Coast legend has been working with Tottenham since December as he studied for his coaching badges.
Yaya Toure will be working with ex-England and Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe as developmental coaches for Spurs.
African football great, Yaya Toure, is set to be named Tottenham Hotspur youth team coach ahead of the 2022/23 season. The Manchester City legend has been working with Tottenham’s developmental team since December as he acquired his coaching badges.
And according to the Evening Standard, the 39-year-old is set to join the North London club’s coaching staff on a permanent deal. Ivory Coast legend Yaya Toure is set to be named Tottenham Hotspur academy coach.
Yaya Toure recently completed his UEFA License A coaching badge and he is looking forward to be coming a successful manager.
“What an incredible coaching journey so far. Thank you to everyone being part of this journey with me. That’s another one done. More to come. Let’s do this,” he posted on Twitter. The 2015 Africa Cup of Nations winner has had an illustrious football career, winning several titles, including the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona in 2009. He is also a three-time English Premier League winner with Manchester City.
Toure will be working with Tottenham legend Jermaine Defoe at the club’s academy.
