The Moroccan futsal team will take part in an international friendly tournament in the Croatian town of Labin from October 1 to 11.
According to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), this competition will also see the participation of teams from Latvia, Norway, and Turkey.
Ranked eighth globally, the Moroccan team will first take on Norway on October 4, before facing Latvia the following day and Turkey on October 7.
The group winner and runner-up will then face off in the final on October 8.
Head coach Hicham Dguig has called up 18 players to take part in this friendly tournament, including Bilal Bakkali, Anas El Ayane, Hamza Bouziane, Soufiane Bourit, Khalid Bouzid, and Othmane Boumzou.
The competition is part of the Atlas Lions’ preparations for upcoming events, notably the 2024 African Cup of Nations in Mozambique.
This competition will also serve as a qualifier for the World Cup, set to take place in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6, 2024.
On June 16, Morocco stunned Kuwait 7-1 to win the 2023 Arab Futsal Cup tournament for the third time in a row. They are also reigning African champions.
