The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has signed partnership agreements with various international tourism groups and organizations with the aim of promoting Morocco as a travel destination in the international market.
Signed on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Fair, which took place between May 1 and 4 in Dubai, the agreements are part of ONMT’s goal to double the number of tourists coming to Morocco from the Gulf country and the region by 2026.
Singapore’s Wego was among the groups that the tourism office has partnered with. Based in Singapore and Dubai, Wego is a meta-search engine and the largest travel marketplace in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia Pacific.
ONMT also signed an agreement with Cozmo Travel, one of the leading travel agencies in the UAE. After launching in operations in January 2010, the travel agency has increasingly committed to offering “customized travel solutions and world-class product and consultancy services” to businesses and individuals, according to its website.
Japanese travel services giant Miki Travel was also among the companies that ONMT partnered with. According to its website, the travel services provider offers a “vast portfolio” of travel products including transfer services and accommodation options.
In addition, the national office has partnered with Kuwaiti online travel company Rehlat, which was named the best travel agency in the UAE in 2021, among other awards.
In a bid to boost the volume of travel operations and the flow of tourist arrivals in Morocco, ONMT signed a partnership agreement with Emirates Airlines.
ONMT CEO Adel El Fakir said that the agreement is part of the office’s 2023 “Light in action” initiative, which focuses on strengthening four areas — marketing, airline, digital, and distribution.
Beyond the Asian market, ONMT has partnered Australian group Intrepid Travel, whose mission is “to inspire, create, share and lead the best travel experiences ever.”
In recent years, the Moroccan tourism office has consolidated efforts to promote Morocco as a tourist destination for travelers worldwide, notably through its recent campaign “Morocco, Land of Light.”
