A political leader in Akwa Ibom State, Captain Augustine Okon, has called on all right-thinking individuals in Nigeria to vehemently resist the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket as presented by the ruling party at the centre, the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying it would amount to shutting down Christians from the government of the nation.

The political chieftain, who recently endorsed the OBIDIENT movement to support the presidential ambition of the former Anambra state governor, Mr. Peter Obi, stated that the 2023 elections are presenting the last opportunity to rescue the country and the people from impending doom.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the defunct ADC and Fresh Airlines, stated this in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, during the official inauguration of the state chapter of Peter Obi Integrity Network for Transportation (POINT).

“I always listen to Peter obi for what he says, He is the only candidate that will address insecurity, poverty, food shortage, health, education, and corruption in Nigeria and he has done it before when he was Anambra state governor, that is the reason he always urged us to go and verify”. Okon stated.

Captain Okon, who is the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of Peter Obi Campaign Council, maintained that the Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi’s antecedent as the Governor of Anambra State is what makes him more sellable than candidates of other parties in the 2013 presidential race.

The state coordinator who disclosed the support of over 70 support groups operating in Akwa Ibom state in support of his principal, said that POINT is the most outstanding and is operational in all the states of the federation primarily not as a political but as a pressure group, which is gearing towards installing a better government in the country come 2023.

“We all know that Akwa Ibom is a PDP state but Akwa Ibom have highly intelligent people who are now with Peter Obi because he is very sellable. Labour candidate has marketable credentials and will make a better president than other alternatives from other political parties.

“We support peter obi because of what he has done in the past as a governor of his state and what he said he will do for Nigerians when he becomes the next president.

“We now have structures in both rural and urban areas, the structures I mean here is human being because our support groups have gone into all nooks and cranny to sell our candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi.

“We are no more talking about ourselves as support group, now talking about Peter Obi and Labour Party and our estimation is that by January, there will be more card carrier of the Labour Party than other parties in Akwa Ibom state.

“Labour party has come to stay since our candidate signed in, many now wish to belong, that is why we are taking our message to the rural areas because in the urban everyone has heard of Peter Obi.

“Our people have tested the PDP and the APC governments for many years now, and all we see is corruption, insecurity and looting of funds which leads to scarcity of food and other amenities, so no one would love to continue in such parties.

“Recently Abuja was almost closed down because of Terrorist activities which has been going on for eight years now and the government refuse to pronounce them Terrorist instead, they finetuned them Boko Haram, herdsmen, bandits, which are words used for Primary school people playing pranks.

“Look at Akwa Ibom upon all that we have, oil, water and light, where are we in the poverty index of the country? Please we cannot continue like this, we must change this government with every legitimate means that we can, by voting peter obi”. He stressed.

Okon mentioned that his team in Akwa Ibom have taken it upon themselves to conduct voter education to the people in the rural areas, on how to resist vote buying and “vote Papa, Mama and pikin”.

“And since the government resolves to staving its citizen so that election time they will use the money for vote buying, if you can’t spiritually resist their money because of hunger, collect it but vote your conscience and don’t be intimidated that you will be harmed by collecting the money, it’s your right, nothing will happen to you, God will protect every one voting Peter Obi but Peter obi will not give shishi in terms of vote buying, he won’t pay to be voted for.

“Akwa ibomite all over the globe please vote with your heart, I know we all love Peter Obi because we love good things, vote your conscience, vote Labour Party, vote Peter obi come 2023”. He ended.
