President Bola Tinubu has appointed new directors-general to head three Nigerian government agencies and named Daniel Bwala as his special adviser on public communications.
Mr Bwala, a lawyer who previously served as spokesman for the opposition People’s Democratic Party’s presidential campaign, will handle media affairs at the presidential villa.
The appointments include Olawale Olopade, who takes charge of the National Sports Commission. Mr Olopade recently chaired the organising committee for Nigeria’s National Sports Festival and previously served as sports commissioner in Ogun State.
Marketing executive Abisoye Fagade, founder of Sodium Brand Solutions, will lead the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Meanwhile, Adebowale Adedokun has been promoted to director-general of the Bureau of Public Procurement, where he previously headed research and strategic planning.
The Nigerian leader has tasked the appointees with executing their duties with “dedication, patriotism and excellence”.
