Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame has received the credentials of eight new diplomatic representatives at the presidential office in Kigali.
The ceremony, held on Thursday at Urugwiro Village, saw the president welcome ambassadors and high commissioners from various countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Those presenting their letters of credence were Ambassador Alexander Polyakov of Russia, High Commissioner Alison Heather Thorpe of the United Kingdom, High Commissioner Mridu Pawan Das of India, and Ambassador Mauro Massoni of Italy.
President Kagame also received credentials from Ambassador Fátima Yesenia Fernandes Juárez of Venezuela, Ambassador Enrique Javier Ochoa Martínez of Mexico, Ambassador Genţiana Şerbu of Romania, and Ambassador Ruslan Rafael oglu Nasibov of Azerbaijan.
The formal reception of credentials marks the official start of the diplomats’ missions in Rwanda, signifying a strengthening of bilateral relations between Rwanda and the represented nations.
Urugwiro Village, located in Kigali, serves as the office of the president and is often used for high-level diplomatic engagements.
