Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Galatasaray forward Mostafa Mohamed have joined Egypt’s training camp in Cairo as the Pharaohs begin preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The inclusion of the high-profile duo solidifies the Egyptian national team’s squad ahead of their opening Group C fixtures against Cape Verde on 6 September and an away match against Botswana four days later.
Defender Mohamed Abdelmonem is also expected to link up with the squad later on Tuesday after attending a conference.
Egypt will be looking to their experienced players like Salah and Mostafa Mohamed to guide them through the qualifiers, which also feature Mauritania as the other team in Group C.
The Pharaohs will be aiming to secure their place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament after failing to progress from the group stage at the previous edition in Cameroon earlier this year.
