Two Catholic priests were on Saturday night abducted at Agbarha-Otor community in Ughelli North Council Area of Nigeria’s Delta state.
Agbarha-Otor community is the home town of the late business mogul, Olorogun Michael Ibru.
A statement by Very Rev. Father Okereke Kizito of Schoenstatt Fathers of the Archdiocese of Ibadan, said one of the Fathers, Chochos Kunav, who lives and works in Ibadan was visiting his friend, the parish priest of St. Francis, Agbarha-Otor, Fr. Raphael Ogigba.
Unfortunately, while returning from a visit to another parish priest in the area, the duo was kidnapped “in front of the Ibru University, Agbarha-Otor”.
The statement further called for intense prayers by parishioners for their quick and safe release.
Confirming the incident, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, as of Monday evening the police were on the trail of the suspects.
In a related development, Warri-based lawyer, Akpomudiaga Odje, who was kidnapped Sunday, has regained freedom.
