Gambia, meanwhile, have participated in the Africa Cup of Nations twice before, in 2021 and 2023. In their debut appearance in 2021, the team reached the quarter-finals, and they will be hoping to qualify for the tournament again.
The draw leaves both teams with work to do in their quest to reach the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.
