Ethiopia has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of the Arbaminch University Teaching and Comprehensive Specialized Hospital.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali presided over the opening ceremony, marking a new era in medical services for the region.

The state-of-the-art facility, located in Arba Minch, is designed to offer a comprehensive range of medical services, addressing the growing healthcare needs of the population.

As a teaching hospital affiliated with Arbaminch University, it will also play a crucial role in training the next generation of medical professionals in Ethiopia.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Abiy emphasized the government’s commitment to improving healthcare across the nation.

“Today marks the inauguration of the Arbaminch University Teaching and Comprehensive Specialized Hospital,” he said.

“This facility has been built to provide a full range of medical services. Significant efforts are being made in the health sector to ensure adequate care for our people, although there is still much progress to be made.”

This new hospital is part of a broader initiative to modernize Ethiopia’s healthcare system.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to express gratitude to healthcare workers throughout Ethiopia, stressing on the importance of ongoing engagement from medical professionals in this process, stating, “We extend our appreciation to the health workers who are providing essential services to citizens,” he stated.

“As we continue to modernize our healthcare system, your ongoing contribution and engagement are essential.”
