Spanish sports news outlet Marca featured Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi as part of the world’s “best team.”
“More than 100,000 MARCA users chose the best eleven in the world in a series of head-to-head battles between the most prominent players today,” Marca explained.
The outlet said that its result is based on each players’ performance regardless of their salary.
“They are all stars, but meritocracy is above the rest,” the sports outlet stressed.
Hakimi has been an important player not only with his national Moroccan team but also with his club Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Hakimi won France’s Ligue 1 and the Trophee des Champions in his first season with PSG in 2021-22, as a regular starter in the squad in his right-back position.
The Atlas Lion also contributed to Morocco’s fairytale run during the 2022 World Cup, when the team became the first Arab and African squad to make the tournament’s semi-finals.
This is not the first time Hakimi receives international recognition.
In February, FIFA named him among the Men’s World 11, a selection of “exceptional performers in their respective positions.”
In January, he also received the “Best Arab Sportsman” award at the Joy Awards ceremony in Riyadh.
The Atlas lion is one of the best-right backs worldwide and is known for his speed and technical versatility.
