Athletics Kenya has announced it will provide unprecedented live coverage of its two-day trials event to select the national team for the 2024 Africa Games in Accra, Ghana.
The trials, which are free for athletes to participate in, kick off on Tuesday March 5 at the Nyayo Stadium and will be streamed on the governing body’s social media platforms.
Hundreds of Kenya’s top track and field stars are expected to converg in Nairobi, each vying for a coveted spot on the team heading to Africa’s biggest multi-sport spectacle.
The live streams today and tomorrow from 8am to 2:20pm local time will give fans across the nation a front-row seat as the chase for Accra 2023 glory unfolds.
Over 13,000 athletes from across the continent are expected to compete at the 13th edition of the quadrennial Africa Games in Accra from March 8-24.
After the two-day trials marathon, the final Kenyan team bound for the Africa Games will be announced with expectations to make a huge mark in the competition, which is one of the qualifying tournaments for the Olympics.
Accra 2023 is expected to be one of the best as it is the first time Ghana, a founding member of the games, is hosting them.
