Dreams FC earned a crucial 3-2 victory over Academica do Lobito in Group C play of the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday at Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.
Strikers Abdul Aziz, John Antwi, and Aholou Gael Avacevou each scored to propel Dreams FC to the top of their group standings after three matches.
Dreams took the lead 10 minutes through Aziz before Valonga Basillio Barros for Academicat to go 1-1 at halftime.
In the 58th minute, Antwi headed in a free kick to give Dreams FC their first lead of the day. As the game reached its final moments, Avacevou delivered an insurance goal in the 88th minute to make it 3-1. But Samuel Chissapa Cachimbombo pulled one back for Academica in stoppage time to create a nervy finish.
Dreams FC ultimately held on to earn three crucial points. They now top Group C with 6 points, tied with second-place Club Africain of Tunisia. Rivers United sits third with 3 points, while Academica remains winless through three matches.
